Return to play - Stage 4
With the recent announcement of the Recreational Team Sports Framework and England Hockey’s subsequent submissions to government, hockey can now move from Step 2 to Step 4 of the Return to Play plans. With government approval, competitive activity can resume - both training and matches – outdoor and indoor. This is great news for many as pre-season will be able to start in earnest and local fixtures can start to take place.
The permission to play competitive hockey means that everyone involved will need to understand their responsibilities to ensure that we can all make the most of our return to the pitch. Clubs and other hockey organisers must follow guidance to ensure that they are compliant before starting competitive activity.
Below you will find the relevant information regarding COVID-19 guidelines as part of England Hockey's return to play strategy. Anyone wanting to be involved in hockey must sign an England Hockey Participation Agreement before they play (this only needs to be done once), where they agree to the terms and conditions and Code of Ethics and Behaviours. THEY CAN SIGN UP HERE. Whether you are a player, coach, manager, COVID officer or parent, it is critcal that these guidelines are fully understood before returning to play at Old Georgians HC. By ensuring everyone understands these guidelines and standards are maintained at the club, hockey can finally return safely. Overall, this is great news and enables members of Old Georgians to feel the spirit of hockey again and begin to reconnect teammates, coaches and friends.
