We are delighted to announce that Old Georgians Hockey Club has been awarded the Bronze Active Surrey Club accreditation.
As a result we have been selected as Elmbridge Council's focus sports club and have the front page photo and article in their Club Talk Newsletter, a copy of which is attached.
This award recognises that the Club is working towards providing
a safe, effective and child friendly hockey environment. Over the next 3 months we will be working towards Silver standard and are aiming for Gold standard for the start of next season, which equates to ClubMark accreditation.
ClubMark is the Sport England " kite mark" . It is important for the Club as it:
- reassures parents and teachers that the Club is child friendly and safe
- helps the Club to develop and improve its quality of coaching and playing
- encourages strong partnerships with local schools and governing bodies
- helps the club receive greater publicity
- provides the opportunity to bid for funding to increase sport participation in the local community.
